The aim of this course is to allow the participants to explore different creative activities that can promote well-being. Engaging in activities, through choice, that allow for personal ‘me-time’, the opportunity to learn new skills and to focus on something other than our everyday problems can be very beneficial in terms of stress management and well-being as well as being enjoyable. Over the duration of this course participants will get the opportunity to sample a number of different creative activities and determine whether any of them are ones they find it useful to engage in. Learning will be undertaken in a calm and relaxed way with the emphasis on enjoying the process of doing and making rather than the production of ‘finished’ work.
Each week, the course participants will get the opportunity to try a different activity that may be helpful in providing relaxing ‘me time’ and mindfulness with opportunity to consider the practical aspects of engaging in the craft or progressing in their learning. Activities will be varied and are to be confirmed.
Be able to attend the weekly sessions.
This is essentially a practical course where participants will be guided to try out a variety of creative activities and crafts that they could continue at home or develop further through guided learning. Learning will be undertaken in a calm and relaxed way with the emphasis on enjoying the process of doing and making rather than the production of ‘finished’ work.
Classroom based, tutor observations, questioning, reflection and self-assessment.
