Course content
- Learn the different Career Options available By the end of the first hour, students will be able to identify and briefly describe at least three different career options in working with children or young people, including a general understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each.

- Explain different Qualifications and Routes By the end of the second hour, students will have a basic understanding of the qualifications and entry routes (e.g., degrees, vocational training, apprenticeships) required for at least two careers in the child/youth sector.
- Identify their own Personal Skills By the third hour, students will have completed a short personal reflection exercise, identifying at least two of their own strengths and two areas for development in relation to a career working with children or young people.
- Explain and understand how a SWOT Analysis works By the end of the third hour, students will have completed a basic SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) of their own skills and qualities, considering how these align with their chosen career path.
- Produce an Initial Personal Development Plan By the end of the course, students will have created a simple personal development plan, outlining at least two actionable steps they can take in the next 3-6 months to further explore or prepare for a career working with children or young people.

The course will cover different careers that are available and different routes and qualifications are available.
We will also be looking at a personal level at the qualities and skills an individual needs to be successful in this field.

Teaching Methods
The course will be delivered in person at all three centres throughout the last week in November.
How is your progress checked?
Objective 1: will be measured by a short quiz
Objective 2: This will be assessed through a class discussion and completion of a matching activity, where students correctly pair qualifications with the relevant careers.
Objective 3: This will be demonstrated by completing a guided reflection worksheet.
Objective 4: This will be evidenced by completing a SWOT template, where they identify at least two strengths, two weaknesses, one opportunity, and one threat related to their career choice.
Objective 5: This will be measured by completion of the personal development plan worksheet.
