  • 4. First aider roles and responsibilities- Understanding the role of a first aider, including record keeping, and equipment
  • 5. Assessing a casualty- Learning how to assess an unconscious casualty, including those with a suspected spinal injury

Requirements

    Yes, there are some prerequisites for Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses, including:

    • Age: You must be at least 16 years old to take the course.
    • Physical ability: You must be physically able to perform the procedures required to meet HSE assessment criteria, current practice and the criteria set by the Awarding Organisation.
    • English language: Some courses require a basic command of English, typically at a Level 2 level.


    The learner does not need any prior First Aid knowledge and there is no initial assessment before the course place is confirmed.
