Through practical lessons focused on workplace communication, you’ll enhance your speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities with a strong emphasis on the vocabulary and phrases commonly used in job settings.

Learners will:

  • discover vocabulary based around job searching, applications and interviews.
  • be encouraged to apply skills analysis upon themselves and specific employments sectors to enhance their current CV.
  • take part in a variety of ‘role play’ activities that will put to the test their English-speaking skills.

The tutor will provide all worksheets and handouts, but you could bring a pen and notebook, dictionary, translator, and a desire to learn.

    Entry Level to Level 1. However, a basic level of English is suitable for this course

    Initial Assessment can be done prior to the start or during session 1

Teaching Methods

  • This is a classroom base course.

    Through discussion, practical activities and written course materials.


    How is your progress checked?

    At the start of the course, there will be both a written and verbal assessment.

    The tutor will regularly assess each individual's needs and progress through ongoing feedback.

    Assessments will include:

    • Participation in scenarios
    • Creation of a C.V.
    • Completion of an application form
    • A quiz
    • A work booklet

    Extra study or practice required at home.

    Practice for a minimum of 1 to 2 hours per week on the material covered.
