Course content

  • 1. Count, read, write, order and compare numbers up to 1000
  • 2. Read, write and use decimals up to 2 decimal places
  • 3. Round amounts of money to the nearest £1 or 10p
  • 4. Compare metric measures of length including millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres
  • 5. Organise and represent information in appropriate ways including tables, diagrams, simple line graphs and bar charts

Description

This course enables you to develop your skills in many areas of maths including numbers up to 1000, decimals, fractions and charts. We look at the use of basic maths in everyday situations.

Course content:

You will improve your knowledge and skills of addition, subtraction and multiplication. You will start to work with different units of measurement and perform simple calculations with money, weight and distance. You will also learn to lay-out and work out mathematical problems with and without a calculator.

Requirements

  • Completion of an initial assessment to find out your starting point.

    You willl need to complete homework as part of the course.

    Attendance in centre once a week.

What do I need to do this course?

Notepad and pen. Protractor, calculator, ruler and pencils.
