This course aims to further develop your maths skills, focusing on improving your abilities to a level where you may be able to progress to level 2 functional skills
The course allows learners to build upon their maths skills working towards more complex problems in everyday work and life situations in order to possibly progress onto the level 2 qualification and GCSE’s.
This course enables you to further develop your proficiency in mathematics. We will cover a range of skills during the course. The content ranges from fractions and decimals, to negative numbers, using graphs and tables to represent data and understanding basic ratio and probability. Weekly homework and self-study is a requirement of the course.
Completion of an initial assessment to identify level of study.
Notepad and pen. Protractor, compass, calculator, ruler and pencils.
ICT use, practical activities, verbal questioning and discussions, handouts, and informal feedback, written feedback and self- assessment tasks.
Weekly feedback from tutor. Observation, questioning, group activities, presentations and discussion.
Progress onto level 2 functional maths.
