  • Learners will be able to describe how taking part in pottery can benefit their overall wellbeing.
  • Learners will be able to prepare clay ready for making designs.
  • Learners will be able to use tools and other equipment relating to pottery in a safe manner.
  • Learner will design and make several items from clay.
  • Learners will understand how to prepare clay for decorating.

Description

If you would like to try your hand at pottery then this is the course for you. You will learn all of the basics to be able to prepare and create weekly designs.

Course content:

1. Handling and storing clay

2. Working with clay

3. Using tools to create design

4. How to design and include patterns

Requirements

  • None, suitable for all.

What do I need to do this course?

Sensible clothing and an apron.

Teaching Methods

  • This will be tutor led, through demonstrations, practical work and activities.


    How is your progress checked?

    The tutor will check in class that you are understanding the set activities each week.

    Learners will be asked to complete weekly feedback as well as a personal learning record at the start and end of the course.
