Description

This ‘Introduction to Psychology’ course will provide you with an overview of several psychological concepts and relevant theories. You will learn about psychological perspectives with an emphasis on four main viewpoints, their proponents; and the research and experimental methods that were used by those psychological theorists. Base knowledge for progression to the Level 2 qualification.

Course content:

This course will allow you to understand some of the main theories present in psychology and how those theories were hypothesised, researched and quantified. With a focus on four main perspectives you will learn to understand how Psychology can be used in most aspects of everyday life, including bringing up a child, education and the workplace. The four main perspectives that will be covered are:

· Behavioural

· Cognitive

· Psychoanalytical

Requirements

  • No entry requirement, other than an interest in psychology.

    Ideal course to prepare for the Level 2 Pyschology.

What do I need to do this course?

Access to the Internet and use of a laptop or tablet and use of TEAMS. The ability to send an email and search for information on the internet.

Be able to attend the online session each week.

Teaching Methods

  • A variety of teaching styles, discussion, powerpoint, question and answers, research activities.


    How is your progress checked?

    Weekly feedback from tutor. Learners will be asked to complete a Personal Learning Record throughout their course and you may be asked to complete a feedback questionnaires for our funding bodies. Observation, questioning, group activities, presentations and discussion.
