The Learning Centre in Mablethorpe has been open since 2008. We offer a programme for 16-18s called Flare as well as accredited and non-accredited courses for adults.

We support those looking for employment through our weekly Job Club (Thursday mornings 10.00 – 12.00) and are happy to assist anyone looking to explore their learning options.

Free computer access is also available.

You will develop the knowledge and skills of addition, subtraction and multiplying two-figure numbers by numbers up to 9. Ascentis Certificate in Psychology Level 2

This course provides a broad and useful introduction. We will look at theories and practical research in the areas of developmental psychology (cognitive and moral development), cognition (memory and attention) and social psychology (prejudice, attraction). NCFE Business Administration Level 2

The course will provide the underpinning knowledge to enable learners to progress to employment in a business admin role or onto higher level studies. CIEH Intermediate Food Safety Level 3

The CIEH Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety is designed for managers and supervisors who need a broad understanding of food safety control, and who have responsibility for developing and maintaining a food safety system. Growing From Seed

One for the green fingered learners!  It doesn't matter whether you prefer to grow flowers, fruits or vegetables, as growing from seed is a very inexpensive and self-satisfying way to make your garden blossom!  This course will cover the different types of seeds, along with collecting, storing, planting and aftercare.  The course is a mix of both theory and practical sessions. Hedgrows, Water & Wildlife

Computing for Improvers

Worried about using computers? This course gets you over the barrier of turning the computer on and teaches basic mouse and keyboard techniques, learning how to create a simple document and how to save and print, use email for sending and receiving messages and basic internet uses for everyday tasks. Mental Health First Aid - Level 2

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) accredited training courses teach people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide a person towards support. OCR Enterprise & Marketing L2 *Accredited*

This course package aims to raise awareness of the skills of hospitality and customer service and to provide a qualification to support employment in the hospitality and related sectors. Makaton - Level 2

Makaton uses signs and symbols to help people communicate and it is designed to support the development of spoken language.  Throughout this beginners course you will learn around 250 signs and symbols from Stages 1-4, which incorporates Level 1 and Level 2.   The course is suitable for anyone who would like to use Makaton at home or within the workplace. Craft for Wellbeing

Qualsafe Paediatric First Aid

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for: • Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements. • Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements. • Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills | Start date Friday 27/03/2020 | Length: 2 days | Centre: Mablethorpe | Cost: £ 30
