How accessible is our website

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the internationally recognised standard for digital accessibility and aim to ensure web content is perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for all users.

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • Some images may not have fully descriptive alternative (alt) text
  • Some links or buttons may not have sufficiently descriptive labels
  • Colour contrast may not meet minimum standards in all areas
  • Certain interactive elements may not be fully operable using a keyboard
  • Some PDF documents or embedded content may not be fully accessible
  • We are reviewing these areas as part of our continuous improvement programme.

We are taking the following steps to improve accessibility:

  • Reviewing our entire website architecture and looking to rebuild and relaunch a fully accessible site in Autumn 2026.
  • Conducting periodic accessibility reviews and audits
  • Updating content and media to meet accessibility standards
  • Improving navigation and link clarity
  • Reviewing templates and design components for compliance
  • Providing staff with guidance on creating accessible content
