We’re hosting some fun events to help you explore different careers, courses and skills across all our sites this autumn. Register your interest and one of the team will be in touch to schedule you onto your preferred sessions.

What’s happening?

Across each of our centres we’re running a series of courses and workshops for you to sign up to. You can discover more about them below:

Join us the week of the 7 October in Market Rasen

What to expect:

Monday 7 October 
9.30am to 1.30pm: Working in Schools and Colleges. Learn what sort of skills you might have to work in a school or college and set action plans to help you develop. 
2pm to 5pm: Forestry fun craft activities. Get crafty with nature, and learn about trees, leaves and all things forestry.  

Tuesday 8 October 
9.30am to 1.30pm: Careers in Care and the history of nursing.
2.15pm to 5pm: Interactive Dementia Café. Practical and hands-on activities to help you to deepen your understanding of dementia.  

Wednesday 9 October  
9.30am to 1.30pm: Nature or Nurture? How does someone become a killer? Explore why on this social science session.  
2.15pm to 5pm: How to catch a serial killer.

Thursday 10 October 
9.30am to 1.30pm: Explore a career in Construction. What to expect, the type of work available and how to take the next step. 
2.15pm to 5pm: How to calculate for your home improvements. How much paint do I need for this room? How many meters of carpet or flooring do I need? Learn lots of helpful tips to help you with your home DIY. 

Friday 11 October  
2pm to 4pm: Celebrate with us alongside lessons in mixology and mocktail making (non-alcoholic class).

Monday 14 October
10am until 12 midday Meditation. Focus on your wellbeing, calm your mind, and learn about the theory behind anxiety, panic and methods of coping.
11am until 12 midday Get social and competitive with our bowling and curling group. Improve your wellbeing by participating in this fun activity.
1.15pm until 2.15pm Keep on moving.

Tuesday 15 October
9.30am until 3pm Construction Skills. Enjoy getting hands on? Join Mike for a day of construction skills, involving theory and practical.
10am until 12 midday Memory cafe.
1pm until 3pm Healthy minds.
1pm until 2.30pm Circus Skills. Fancy yourself a clown? Dream of running away with the circus? or just want to give it a go? The circus skills session is a perfect show-biz taster, teaching you some tricks of the trade.

Wednesday 16 October
10am until 12 midday. Visual impairment group.
1pm until 3pm Huffers and puffers. A group suitable for people with COPD, respiratory and long-term conditions.
1pm until 2.15pm Tea pots and plant pots. Plant and develop herbs and bulbs, as well as other gardening activities.
6pm until 8pm Food glorious food.

Thursday 17 October
9am until 10.45am Multiply. Enjoy playing with numbers or want to improve your Math’s skills? Give it a go with fun, Math’s-based activities for all ages.
9.30am until 11.30am Breakfast club
10am until 12 midday Dream catcher. Join us for a morning of crafting and relaxation, and create your own dream catcher.
11am until 12.30 Step up
12 midday until 2pm Parkinsons group.
1pm until 3pm Linda LN12
2pm until 4pm Careers event and celebration. We are incredibly proud of our Flare learners, join us to celebrate their achievements and hand out qualification certificates in conjunction with a careers event for those looking to kickstart their careers.

Friday 18 October
10am until 12 midday Adult autism peer support group.
10am until 11.30pm Beyond the spectrum creative writing.
12.15 until 2pm Womens empowerment group.
