Not everyone thrives in a traditional school or college setting. That’s why Flare in Mablethorpe offers a different way for 16–18-year-olds to learn, gain qualifications, and prepare for the future.
With small classes, tailored support, and a welcoming community, Flare helps learners build confidence and achieve their goals; whether that’s moving into employment, apprenticeships, or further education.
Liz Caldicott, Lead Tutor at Flare, explained: “Don’t ever write anybody off. Everybody’s got potential, we focus on that spark and let that potential shine. At Flare, we focus on giving young people the chance to succeed.”

Learners join Flare through a variety of routes, some are referred by schools, social workers, or local services, while others are home-educated young people looking for the next step. Enrolment is open throughout the year, making it easier for learners to start when they’re ready.
Liz added: “We’ve got a fantastic building, great tutors, and learners who bring so much potential. It’s exciting to see them grow and achieve things they never thought possible.”
Flare in Mablethorpe is based at the Campus for Future Living, a brand new, stunning building on Stanley Avenue, opposite the library.
