About Course

This course is intended to introduce learners to the concept of Safeguarding and the Prevent duty. Learners will understand the basic principles, the signs of abuse and neglect along with methods of abuse. They will know their responsibilities around safeguarding and the Prevent duty and the responsibilities an organisation.

Course content:

This non-accredited safeguarding and Prevent course provides learners with a clear introduction to the purpose and principles of safeguarding. The course explores why individuals may require protection, the different types of abuse and neglect, and the signs and indicators that may suggest a concern. Learners will also consider their own responsibilities, including how to respond to and report safeguarding concerns within their organisation. In addition, the course introduces the purpose and key principles of the Prevent Duty, supporting learners to recognise concerns and understand appropriate reporting procedures.

Teaching Methods

  • The course will be delivered over three weeks 09:30-15:00

    For a total fo 15 hours. The course is designed to be delivered using a Hybrid model of teaching with some classroom delivery and some face-to-face delivery


    How is your progress checked?

    Learners will be asked to complete a personal learning record and weekly feedback during their course.

    The tutor will offer regular feedback through informal and formal methods.

    Group discussions in class and individual tasks will also track progress.
