Makaton Level 1

Makaton Level 1 is an introductory course designed to help you develop practical communication skills using Makaton signs and symbols.

During the course, you’ll learn a range of signs and symbols and explore how Makaton can be used to support communication in everyday situations. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to practise what you learn and build your confidence in using Makaton effectively.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to communicate more inclusively, including those working in education, health and social care, childcare or community settings, as well as parents, carers and family members.

No previous Makaton experience is required, making Level 1 the perfect starting point before progressing to Makaton Level 2.
